The Kingdom of Kush was a prosperous country who's culture was greatly affected by its neighbor, Egypt. Trade between the two countries were strong, and Kush even conqured the Nile Valley for a while in 750 B.C. before the Assyrians came with iron weapons and forced them to retreat. The people of Kush used to worship the same gods as the Egyptians, but over time they changed into gods of their own culture.
